Tyler Johnson Set To Make Pro Late Model Debut

Tyler will be visiting a familiar place this February when he makes his Pro Late Model Debut. However, never as a driver. Tyler, 14, will be driving the number 76 POW-MIA Freedom Car on selected dates at New Smyrna Speedway during the World Series of Asphalt Races.

We hope this will be a good experience for Tyler “said his Father Jerick Johnson” long time late model driver and Co-Owner of Team Johnson Motorsports. He will be racing against some of the best in the country, so were sort of throwing him to the wolves a bit. We hope it will be a confidence builder.

Tyler will be entering his first full season of racing after running a limited schedule last year in a Challenger and limited Late Model. I’m really looking forward to making my debut in a Pro Late Model during Speedweeks “said Tyler” a native of Mooresville, NC. I’m hoping this experience will help me in the future.

Tyler started to come into his own during the end of the season last year. He had 5 top 3s and a win at Caraway Speedway. I could see his confidence growing after each race “said Jack Johnson” Co-owner of Team Johnson Motorsports. We don’t have any great expectation for New Smyrna, just experience.

Tyler, Team Johnson Motorsports and the Freedom Car will be attending the Famous Daytona Flea Market on selected dates during speed week. Stop by our booth and visit.
